Imagine pulling live cryptocurrency prices straight into your search results without opening a new tab.

Brave Search, the privacy‑first engine that serves more than 120 million Brave browser users, has just added a direct link to CoinGecko’s API. The partnership lets the search platform display up‑to‑date prices, interactive charts, and conversion tools for more than 17,000 tokens—all on the same results page.

According to the joint announcement, Brave Search now queries CoinGecko’s \/coins\/markets endpoint to fetch current prices, market capitalisation, and 24‑hour trading volume. When users type queries such as “BTC to USD” or “Bitcoin price 30 days,” the engine pulls historical data from the \/coins\/{id}\/market_chart endpoint, turning simple text into an inline chart. Currency conversions between crypto and fiat are handled by CoinGecko’s \/simple\/price endpoint.

The new data stream also powers Brave’s AI‑enabled features. Ask Brave and Leo, the browser‑native assistant, can answer market‑related questions with live price figures and charts, reducing the friction that previously required opening separate tabs or visiting third‑party sites.

Beyond price queries, Brave Search now supports wallet lookups. Searching an ENS domain, an EVM address, or a Solana address surfaces the wallet’s top asset holdings and their current market values. CoinGecko’s extensive token coverage makes it possible to value a wallet in real time.

This capability fits neatly into Brave’s crypto‑native ecosystem. The browser’s Rewards program lets users earn Basic Attention Tokens (BAT) by viewing Brave Ads, while the built‑in Brave Wallet offers a secure way to manage digital assets. By providing instant market data for BAT and other tokens, Brave strengthens the experience for its crypto‑engaged audience.

The integration also aligns with BAT Roadmap 4.0, which calls for new use cases that rely on live market information. Access to real‑time crypto data via search will support those use cases as they roll out.

Brave Search operates on an independent web index and does not profile users, a core selling point for the 80 million daily queries and 2.4 billion monthly queries the engine processes. Sourcing data from CoinGecko, a widely used aggregator that covers a large portion of the token market, lets Brave offer accurate price information and charting without adding complexity to the user interface.

In a joint blog post, Brave and CoinGecko highlighted that the integration is the first step toward embedding crypto data into everyday browsing. Developers noted that the API integration required minimal changes to the search UI; live charts and conversion tools appear in the same format as other search results, preserving a consistent look and feel.

The move comes as the cryptocurrency market continues to grow. With more users engaging with digital assets, the demand for quick, reliable market data within familiar tools is increasing.

Brave’s integration with CoinGecko is live on the public search engine and is available to all users. The company has not announced any planned changes to the feature.

In summary, Brave Search now offers real‑time cryptocurrency data for 17,000+ tokens, live price updates, interactive charts, and wallet valuations directly within search results. The feature leverages CoinGecko’s API, supports Brave’s AI assistants, and enhances the experience for users who rely on the browser’s crypto ecosystem.
