Netcoins Launches In-App Crypto-Backed Loans Powered by APX Lending
Netcoins, a Vancouver‑based trading platform owned by BIGG Digital Assets Inc., has long been a trusted venue for buying, selling and staking more than 60 crypto assets. The new loan feature is delivered entirely within the Netcoins app, but the underlying infrastructure is APX’s Lending‑as‑a‑Service (LaaS) platform. APX, which began operating in 2023, has already secured Canadian regulatory approval to offer Bitcoin and Ethereum‑backed lending, and expanded that approval to USDC in March 2026.
For Netcoins customers, the process is straightforward. Users can submit a loan request directly from the app, receive terms and eligibility information, and then await APX’s underwriting decision. If approved, the loan is funded and the collateral—held in a custodial account—remains on Netcoins. Because APX handles all compliance, collateral management and servicing, Netcoins can offer the service without building a lending operation or bearing the associated capital risk.
"Trading and staking are only the beginning. Credit is the next product layer for digital‑asset platforms," said Andrei Poliakov, Founder and CEO of APX Lending. "But lending requires capital, underwriting, regulatory infrastructure, custody controls, loan servicing and round‑the‑clock collateral management. We built regulated infrastructure so our partners don’t have to." He added that Netcoins is the first Canadian platform to go live and provides a repeatable blueprint for others.
Fraser Matthews, CEO of Netcoins and BIGG Digital Assets, emphasized the partnership’s customer‑centric focus. "This partnership allows us to extend that relationship into lending by giving eligible clients a direct way to access liquidity without having to sell their crypto or search for a lender outside the Netcoins experience," he said.
APX offers three deployment models for partners: a hosted experience, a white‑label deployment or an API integration. The Netcoins launch is the first instance of the hosted model in Canada, and APX claims that deployments can be completed in as little as 60 days. The company’s website lists the hosted option as the most straightforward for platforms that want to add credit services quickly.
The collaboration gives Netcoins a new revenue stream without the overhead of building and managing a lending operation. At the same time, it demonstrates how regulated digital‑asset platforms can embed credit services into their existing ecosystems, potentially opening the door for other exchanges, custodians and fintechs.
APX invites other platforms to explore its solutions via partners@apxlending.com or its white‑label page. For Netcoins users, the first loan applications became available immediately after the July 21 rollout.
In short, the Netcoins‑APX partnership marks the first Canadian deployment of APX’s regulated lending infrastructure. It shows that crypto platforms can offer credit services without building their own operations, and it may set a precedent for similar collaborations across the industry.
