Flowdesk Omega FZE Secures Full VARA License for Broker-Dealer Services in Dubai
The full VARA license authorises Flowdesk Omega FZE to provide broker‑dealer services to qualified and institutional investors in and from Dubai. The licence follows the in‑principle approval received in June 2026 and marks the completion of VARA’s rigorous, multi‑stage licensing application process. VARA is recognised as one of the world’s most sophisticated and transparent frameworks for virtual assets. According to VARA’s public register, as of July 2026, 48 active VARA VASP licences are held by 45 companies.
Guilhem Chaumont, co‑founder and CEO of Flowdesk Group, said: “Receiving our full licence from VARA is a defining milestone for Flowdesk, and a reflection of the depth of work our teams have invested in governance, compliance, risk management, and institutional‑grade market infrastructure.” He added that VARA’s framework allows Flowdesk to bring the same rigor to how it serves institutional and qualified clients in the region.
Flowdesk is a global liquidity provider and virtual‑asset trading technology firm. It offers 24/7 coverage across more than 150 exchange venues worldwide and operates an office in Dubai. The company has more than 200 employees globally and is backed by institutions such as BlackRock, Cathay Innovation, and Coinbase Ventures. Flowdesk’s proprietary trading technology and deep market connectivity enable it to deliver secure, transparent, and efficient access to digital‑asset markets for institutional clients and token issuers.
Regulatory context: Flowdesk holds a Crypto‑Asset Service Provider (CASP) authorisation from France’s AMF under the EU’s Markets in Crypto‑Assets (MiCA) regulation. The MiCA framework establishes a comprehensive regulatory regime for crypto‑assets across the European Union. Flowdesk’s dual regulatory approvals in Dubai and Europe strengthen its foundation as a partner for institutions, exchanges, and token issuers operating in multiple jurisdictions.
VARA’s role: The Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority was established under Dubai’s Virtual Asset Law to supervise and regulate virtual assets in the Emirate. VARA’s framework is designed to protect investors, maintain high levels of risk assurance, and facilitate innovation in the virtual‑asset space. Dubai’s position as a leading crypto hub has attracted a growing number of regulated virtual‑asset service providers, and Flowdesk’s full licence adds to the Emirate’s growing ecosystem.
With the full VARA licence, Flowdesk Omega FZE can now provide broker‑dealer services to qualified and institutional investors in Dubai and from the Emirate. The licensing milestone complements Flowdesk’s existing MiCA authorisation and expands its regulated footprint across the Middle East and Europe. The company’s robust governance, compliance, and market‑connectivity capabilities position it to support institutional and qualified clients as the global digital‑asset market continues to mature.
